Actor
Kavya Shetty took time off from shooting to enjoy scuba diving in the Andamans for the first time. She managed to stay under water for over 25 minutes, accompanied by a trainer.
A thrilled
Kavya says, “I took training for a day inside the pool before I ventured into the sea, which is mandatory for anyone, even if they have done scuba diving before. This is to understand a few things like clearing the water and getting tips on oxygen cylinders and breathing techniques, which is vital to stay under water for longer.”
She says, “It was an awesome experience to get 12 feet under water, especially for someone who hasn’t tried it.
Initially, I was scared and I kept coming back to the surface. But once my nerves settled, I started enjoying the moment. I got to see various corals, colourful fish and it was almost like touching them underwater. There was heavy rain at that time, so I was not able to see some creatures clearly and I was not able to wipe out water from my frames, which was frustrating, so I had to end it.” The actor also visited
Port Blair, Havelock Island and Neil Island during her week-long vacation.
On the career front, Kavya has a few interesting projects lined up, “I have Guruthinda Seethakalam in Telugu which is ready to release and in Kannada, I have Ashoka Blade, Kaada, 6C and a web series. I am happy with the way things have shaped up so far,” she wraps up.
