’ that is creating a huge buzz in Sandalwood, starring Kaveesh Shetty in the lead role. The narrative revolves around teenage and college life. The teaser and songs of ‘Jiilka’ have already attracted the audience and the

movie

will be released simultaneously in Kannada, Hindi and Marathi.

Kaveesh Shetty has undergone a massive transformation for the movie and opened up about the same in an exclusive chat with ETimes, “The film features the journey of one person and is made for the youth, it concludes with a social message. ‘Jiilka’ means generation and the movie is about how the generation is fast in terms of love and relationships. We have worked for three years on the film because it involved a massive physical transformation. At the beginning of the movie, I weighed 76 kg, then I lost weight for the school kid character and was 68kg and for the college boy role my character weighed 78 kg.”

With ‘Jiilka’ Kaveesh Shetty will mark his debut in Sandalwood as an actor, director, writer, and lyricist. “It was a dream for me to become a director and I have already worked on 20 stories and I know whom to cast. We had approached a Bollywood actor for ‘Jiilka’, but he was not ready to give two years to one a movie because of the physical transformation. So, I decided to act and direct in the movie. I know all three languages Kannada, Marathi and Hindi so it was easy for me,” said Kaveesh.

Speaking about the experience of shooting for ‘Jiilka’ Kaveesh added, “I always knew directing and acting was a huge task. With ‘Jiilka’ we had the best artists who were good with one language so I arranged rehearsals for all the artists and made them mug up the dialogues. We completed the film with a lot of effort and I am very lucky to have this team with me.”

Priya Hegde, Laksh Shetty and Gopika Dinesh wil share the frame with Kaveesh Shetty in ‘Jiilka’. Uday Shetty, Kishore Khuch Chandani, Teha Singh Saini, Manish Nagdev have invested in this movie, which is produced under Kaveesh Shetty Productions. Pranshu Jha has composed the music. ‘Jiilka’ is all set to hit the screens on February 7.
