'Kantara' Telugu version fetches high TRP ratings on its premiere telecast

Actor-director Rishab Shetty got fame and a name all over India after 'Kantara' stormed the Indian cinema beyond Karnataka boundaries. After four months after the movie’s release and becoming a phenomenon across the world, 'Kantara’s sensational success refuses to die down. The film entertained the masses on the silver screens, the film has now reached the OTT platforms and television screens. On January 22, the Telugu version of 'Kantara' was telecasted on TV and set to have fetched impressive TRP ratings.

'Kantara', which premiered on a channel at 6 in the evening, earned a record-breaking TRP rating of 12.35. This is quite unusual for a dubbed movie, to attain such tremendous TRP ratings. Apparently, 'Kantara' has surpassed the rating of Chiranjeevi’s action thriller 'Godfather' which received a rating of 7.69. Earlier, 'Kantara' saw its world television premiere on the Kannada television channel on January 15 at 6 pm getting a TRP rating of 15.8 reportedly.

The Rishab Shetty directorial, made at a budget of Rs 16 crore, entered the 400-crore box office club. The film also starred Sapthami Gowda, Manasi Sudhir, Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, and Pramod Shetty in titular roles and music was scored by Anjaneesh Loknath.

Rishab Shetty is back to work and busy writing the prequel for 'Kantara' and will be going to the floor in June and has plans to release it in 2024 summer.
