Rishab Shetty's 'Kantara: Chapter 1' is set to release soon. As fans get ready to catch the film on the big screen, the 42-year-old filmmaker shared what they can expect. He teased that the film would carry moments as powerful as the iconic climax of the 2022 superhit 'Kantara'. While speaking with Pinkvilla, Rishab revealed that 'Kantara: Chapter 1' will include a sequence that will leave a lasting impression.

"Definitely. I think every film industry, be it Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam film industry, and outside as well, many directors, producers, and technicians share such a nice gesture whenever they see me," Shetty said.

Overwhelming response of 'Kantara'

He further explained that the reception from the audience for the original's final act was overwhelming. "The reception I got after Kantara from the audience, I can never forget that. It was very fresh. You know it's like if we see a lion face-to-face in real life, you'd feel scared, right? I was scared and overwhelmed like that when it happened. However, the love I am receiving makes me feel happy. As a whole team, I am thankful to everyone," he shared.

A mythological prequel

'Kantara: Chapter 1' will portray the historical folklore thriller set during the Kadamba dynasty. The trailer reveals the mystical forests, ancient Boota Kola rituals, and a fierce battle between a warrior played by Rishab Shetty and a cruel prince Kulashekara played by Gulshan Devaiah.The film features powerful visuals and music. It will be a prequel to the story introduced in the original 'Kantara'.The music is composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath.The film will be released in several languages on October 2, 2025.
