With a new-found love for horses, actor Sapthami Gowda gushes as she speaks about her latest pursuit, which she had taken up for her role in an upcoming Telugu flick. Titled Thammudu, starring Nithin in the lead, this project required Sapthami to learn horse riding.
“As the heroine, this assignment calls for a whole different commitment from me — horse riding. It’s because my mode of transport in the film is on a horseback,” she smiles.
Though she could have opted for a dupe to fill in for her, she chose to go authentic and learn the skill herself. “I’m undergoing a 40-day crash course at a horse riding academy in JP Nagar, Bengaluru. Since I’ve already learnt to ride faster than expected, I’ve now moved on to riding on the hills, which was not part of my training. It’s only because I’ve really come to love the sport and develop an affinity for it,” she adds.
However, each horse is different because of its temperament, she concedes. “Some are moody, some are lazy, some are extremely active. I’m lucky that my horse, Solar, is active and forever up to try new things with me,” Sapthami sums up.
