Despite the growing trend of female-centric movies across film industries, actress Nisha Ravikrishnan feels there’s still a scarcity of such films in Kannada cinema. “We still have a long way to go before women become the driving force in content creation," says the actress, who rose to fame with the serial Gattimela. “There are only a handful of such films, and we need many more to be on par with other industries," she adds.

Nisha is now all set to make her Kannada film debut with a solo film titled Anshu, directed by Channa Keshava.
Nisha reveals she was offered several run-of-the-mill characters but she was waiting for an inspiring role. “The film tackles the critical issue of female infanticide, which sadly persists across India. A significant part of the shoot even took place inside a car, which was quite challenging," she tells us.
The actress also has a new serial lined up for release soon. "I'm passionate about acting, and consistent work helps me hone my craft be it on the small screen or the big screen,” she says.
