As the industry returned to work mode post Deepavali, a slew of film related announcements were made over the week:
When it comes to the Sandalwood drug scandal, actresses
Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani celebrated Deepavali in the central jail. They visited the temple in the jail premises and Ragini even made greeting cards for the jail authorities.
Sandalwood's Navarasa Nayaka completed four decades in the film industry.
The actor thanked his fans and colleagues for supporting him through the journey. He was at a yoga retreat throughout the week.
Deepavali also saw baby announcements. While Skanda Ashok shared the first pictures of his daughter, Mayuri Kyatari and Harish Raj shared the news that they were expecting new arrivals in their families. Radhika Pandit and Vijay Suriya shared images of their children celebrating Deepavali, while Sruthi Hariharan resumed shooting with her baby in tow.
Filmmaker Shahuraj Sindhe, who made films like Snehana Preethina and Arjun, succumbed to a cardiac arrest. He had two films readying for release.
Darshan, Umapathy, Pannaga Bharana, Dharma Keerthiraj, Prajwal and Pranam Devaraj, Chikkanna and Yashas Surya along with a gang of boys went biking and also played some friendly cricket games in an all-boys getaway.
Actress Harshika Poonacha is in London shooting for her Bhojpuri debut. This is the eighth film industry she is entering. She debuts opposite Bhojpuri superstar Pawan Kumar.
ACT-1978 was the first new Kannada film to release in cinema halls post pandemic. The premiere saw a host of actors and technicians attending it. Sudeep, too, showed his support and praised the film.
