Kannada Film Industry makes prominent contributions to Upendra's cause

With superstar Upendra extending his helping hand towards film artists and technicians, many of his colleagues too have joined in to support

The second wave of the pandemic has deeply impacted the Kannada Fim Industry as many film productions come to a sudden halt. Due to the ongoing lockdown, many artists, workers, and technicians have unfortunately found themselves out of work at the moment, and with things not looking bright even in the coming days, an intervention, of sorts, was required. And thus stepped in the Real Star Upendra who took it upon himself to support those affected in his film fraternity and decided on distributing grocery kits to over 3000 families that are part of multiple film associations. In this pursuit, Upendra also began attracting useful monetary contributions towards these very associations and many of his industry colleagues to chipped in by donating various amounts. Let's take a look at those who have joined in on Upendra's noble attempt to help those in need.

B. Saroja Devi

The yesteryear legend was among the first ones to pitch in with a hefty contribution. B. Saroja Devi has donated an amount of Rs. 4 lakhs, and since Upendra himself has taken the onus of distributing kits to the supporting artists, the amount will be utilized to offer support to those in the music industry. According to Upendra's tweet, music composer Sadhu Kokila himself will oversee the proceedings.

Sadhu Kokila

The very popular music composer and comedian Sadhu Kokila chose to extend support to the various orchestra workers with a noble contribution of Rs. 2.5 lakhs. As many would already be aware, Sadhu Kokila was born into a family of musicians/singers who were part of an orchestra setup back in the day.

Manya Naidu

Popular Malayalam and Telugu actress Manya Naidu, who now resides in the U.S.A, too came forward with a contribution of Rs. 1 lakh. As per Upendra's tweet, Ms. Manya's contribution will be utilized to distribute grocery kits to those in dire need, and the details of which shall be shared at the earliest. Manya Naidu has featured in films like 'Shastri' and 'Ambi' in the past.

Pavan Wadeyar

Popular filmmaker Pavan Wadeyar made a donation of Rs. 20,000 which will be directed towards the Kannada Film Music Artists association. To keep things transparent, Upendra shared a screenshot of the bank transaction via social media.

Shobaraj

Popular character actor Shobaraj, known for his villainous roles, has apparently rendered support to supporting artists of the Kannada film Industry by contributing an amount of Rs. 10,000.
