Kannada actress Milana Nagaraj is all set to make her debut in Mollywood through Shanil Mohammed's Avarude Raavukal. While she has acted in six Kannada movies, including Nam Duniya Nam Style, the actress found it a completely new experience to work in Malayalam films. 'It's a fresh experience for me as the work culture is totally different from what I am used to in the Kannada film industry,' says Milana. The actress plays Meghana, a call-centre employee and the love interest of
Vinay Forrt's character in the movie that also has Unni Mukundan and Asif Ali. 'I have not played such a character before. It's a mature and dignified role of sorts. In the Kannada film industry, we get to play glam roles, but in the Malayalam industry, strong characters are scripted for actresses,' she says.
While she was initially apprehensive about working in the film because of the language, the team made her feel at ease, she says. 'Communication was tough, but the entire crew was young and they really helped me,' she adds.
