Kabzaa will be a triple whammy: R Chandru

With the recent introduction of actor Shivarajkumar’s character in Kabzaa, director R Chandru has promised a triple whammy. The movie sees Upendra in the lead with Sudeep in a pivotal cameo. Shivarajkumar’s addition has now upped the ante.
“Upendra essays the lead role, and the film revolves around him. Sudeep and Shivarajkumar have pivotal cameos. Metaphorically, Upendra is like a golden crown and Sudeep and Shivarajkumar are like two precious diamonds in the film.We have seen Upendra-Shivarajkumar, and Shivarajkumar-Sudeep and even Upendra-Sudeep together on screen. In Kabzaa, three powerhouses come together to deliver a film that will once again show the magic we can create on the silver screen. I had written Shivarajkumar’s character at the beginning itself. It was kept under wraps for a reason, which will be evident when the audience watches this film on screen,” explains the director.
Chandru adds, “OTT has brought world cinema to mobile phones, and people are now comfortable watching a film on the small screen. With Kabzaa, we wanted to create something extraordinary to draw the audience to the cinema halls. The entire globe now has its eye on the Kannada film industry, and the onus is on us to ensure that we live up to their expectations.”
A gangster drama set in the early 1900s, Kabzaa is produced by Chandru’s Sri Siddeshwara Enterprises, along with Alankar Pandian’s Invenio Origin. The movie has Shriya Saran playing the female lead.
