Sandalwood’s veteran comedian, the late
Narasimha
Raju was a unique personality in the Kannada film industry. He acted in over 250 films and died at the age of 55. And while the legend has a huge fan following even today, until now, there has been no memorial or any kind of tribute that has been announced by the industry in his honour.
At a recent event, Navarasa
Nayaka
Jaggesh happened to speak about the great comedian and promised fans that he would like to honour Narasimha Raju by building a memorial at Tiptur, Tumkur where he was born. Incidentally,
Jaggesh happens to share his birthplace with Narasimha Raj. And now, Jaggesh has tweeted that he will make sure that the building of the memorial for Narasimha Raj is done.
Recently, one of Narasimha Raju’s fans asked Jaggesh about the memorial, “Jaggesh, Narasimha Raju a comedian who won the hearts of the people of Karnataka. You had promised his wife to build a memorial in Tiptur in an event. Will that get executed? Is Chief Minister
Yudiyarappa
has shown any positive response?” Jaggesh responded to this saying, “Of course.. I and the Honorable MLA
Mithra Nagesh
are very interested in that task.
Mr Narasimha Raju
's wife has been informed about this last week. I am sure we will build a memorial for the god who made us laugh. Thank you.”
It is only right that Narasimha Raju be given his due honour as he gave literally all of his life to acting and making people laugh. He began acting as a drama artist at the young age of four years and was a professional theatre artist in Tiptur, Tumkur, where he was born. He became so popular that he went on to act in many films. He was considered as one of the best co-stars to have acted with Dr Rajkumar.
