J Karthik excited to play baddie in a fantasy movie

After playing the leading man for quite some time, audiences will get to see J Karthik as a baddie in director Ramachari’s next, Chaari 36. The movie is set in the 1950s and has two main characters — one played by JK and the other by a child artiste who is yet to be cast. What is interesting is that there is no female lead in the movie. The shooting is set to commence in November, and the film will be shot in Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

When we spoke to J Karthik about the movie, he was upbeat, and told us, “I am excited to play a baddie again. I will be seen in a new avatar in Chaari 36, which will be a surprise element. There is a mystery in the film which adds a twist to the tale. While there are only a few characters in the movie, they all are of great importance. There is no female protagonist, which is unusual in commercial films and is something that makes the film more interesting.”
The actor, who recently wrapped up shooting his portions for

Iravan

and Kaada, is gearing up to shoot for the sequel of Kaada. “The film will be released in two parts, as there is enough content in the story to facilitate that. The sequel will take audiences back into the childhood life of

Kaada

and how it leaves an impact on him,” JK says, signing off.
