The year seems to be ending on a good note for actress Bhavana, who will have not one, but at least three films lined up for release. One of this is the
Sharan starrer Satya Harishchandra, which has been directed by
Dayal Padmanabhan. “It is a coincidence that so many of my films are lined up for release almost one after the other. It does feel great,” says Bhavana. About the first, a comedy alongside the king of comedy in the Kannada film industry – Sharan —
Bhavana tells us, “Comedy is a tough genre.
It is easier to make someone feel the many other kinds of emotions than it is to make someone laugh. That is really tough. However, in Satya Harishchandra, we have managed a good job of it since all the scenes include situational comedy.” In the film, Bhavana plays a simple girl who travels to Germany, where she meets the hero. “The story dwells on what happens in this character’s life, which further changes the entire story,” hints Bhavana, who adds, “Here, I play a very innocent and sweet girl. There is always a tendency to get stereotype for certain kind of roles after you have played them once onscreen. So, I am glad I got to do this role, as it highlights a different side to my acting onscreen. The biggest challenge was to match up to Sharan’s comic timing. I was making the mistake of reacting too soon and that required a bit of relearning on the set. I learnt a lot about how to tackle comedy from both Sharan and my director, Dayal.”
