Veteran actress Jayamala says some recent reports and rumours that she is frantically searching for a groom for her actress daughter Soundarya was not true. “She is 24 and perhaps it is the right time to marry. If she agrees, I am ready to get her married now. But she does not want to marry for another 2-3 years. I have to respect that. As a mother I have hundreds of dreams for her.
But I will not rush into anything against her wishes,“ she said. Jayamala said that it was not new for her to think about getting her daughter married. “Even when she was much younger, I would imagine getting her married one day. This is what all parents do. I always thought about what kind of groom would be best for her.“
While Jayamala has moved to become an active politician as an MLC, daughter Soundary too has not been regular in
Sandalwood. After films with
Upendra (Godfather), Srinagar Kitty (Paru Wo Devdas) and
Vijay (Simhadri), she has not signed any new film in the last one year, though there was speculation that she was doing a Tamil film.Meanwhile, Jayamala herself has made a small return to films. On Wednesday, she did a voice-over for
Srujan Lokesh's Sapnoki Rani. “This is the first time in my 40-year-career that I was asked to do a narration for a film. Now I have done this too,“ a beaming Jayamala said.
