Shes just come back from Portugal where she was to shoot for her film Lucky. But visa problems faced by the rest of the crew delayed the whole schedule, bringing Ramya back to the city earlier than she had expected. But on her return, the actor was welcomed with news she hadnt bargained for that she is set to do an item song for Kavitha Lankeshs film Crazy Loka.
This is not the first time that an unvalidated rumour about me has spread. Last time, it was that I was to act in Veerappan, and now this. Im not doing an item number. Kavitha said that the producer had told her that I would do a special number for the film. Theres no question of anything like that. I dont need that kind of publicity, fumes Ramya.
Whats also irked her are reports that shes been dilly-dallying over whether to do the song or not due to remuneration discussions. Thats absurd. Everything doesnt work on money, says Ramya, who is in London for a Kannadiga Sammelana.
Once back, Ramya will get busy with films again. Ive wound up Siddalingu and only have a couple of songs pending for Lucky. Thereafter, Ill begin work on a comedy that is an Upendra-starrer. When I heard the script I found it funny and thought that since people today are looking for entertainment, this would be just right, says the actor. Rumour has it that the film will also star Ambareesh, and Ramya is hoping that he signs up. The roles been tailor-made for
Ambareesh uncle and it would be great if he does it, says Ramya, whos also got the sequel to Johnny Mera Naam lined up for her.
Besides Sandalwood flicks, Ramyas not got much on her plate. Ive not got any offers from Kollywood, she quips. But Ramya isnt worried. This pace of work allows me time to do stuff I want to do, like go on holiday, or work for the Shantinagar constituency, she signs off.
