I’m excited to be a fresher in Telugu cinema after 15 years as an actor: Dharma
Actor Dharma Kirthiraj is all set to make his Telugu debut with Blood Roses, directed by M Gururajan. In the film, he dons the cop uniform for a second time. “Every cop has their own style while dealing with people, which is why I wanted to take on a police role again. Just wearing the uniform is a special feeling for me,” says Dharma. Excerpts: ‘I’M A FRESHER IN TELUGU CINEMA’ The one thing that fascinates me about entering into new territory is I begin as a fresher. This way, the makers can mould me into any character they want. In a time when legendary actors like Shivarajkumar are crossing barriers, it is time for us also to explore industries, too. ‘I’M NOW INVOLVED IN FILMMAKING, TOO’ Success is key for any actor to get recognition, if doesn’t happen, instead of fretting over it, I try to improve with each film wanting to be a better version of myself. Initially, I was focusing on my character, now I am involved in the film making process and script so that the entire output resonates with the audiences. Luckily, offers haven’t stopped coming, which gives me confidence to focus on my work. ‘SUCCESS ISN’T GUARANTEED EVEN IF YOU COME FROM A FILMI FAMILY’ I have fought voluntarily throughout my career on the basis of my talents. In the beginning, my father (Kirthiraj) used to advise me, but now he has left me to deal on my own, we do discuss films, but he isn’t involved in the final approval.
