Golden Star
Ganesh was with Bangalore Times ahead of the release of his new film, Mugulu Nage. Here is the fun rapid fire we had with the actor, which was peppered with laughs galore.
In the movie, people keep telling you that you have a nice smile. In real life though, who was the first to tell you this?
I. I used to look at myself and think that I have a nice smile.
(laughs)
What comes to mind when we say:Male (rain)? My school days. Here’s why. There was a 600 metre walk from the bus stop to my house and every time it rained, I would walk as slow as possible to make sure that my books would get wet.
Gaalipatta...Handi baala
Nagu (laugh)
Charlie Chaplin and Govinda
Your first celebrity crush?Malashree
The first time you fell in love...I don’t remember.
Your first heart break? In college; don’t ask her name.
Which song signifies your life? There is a Kannada song from an
Ambareesh film, Ille Swarga, Ille Naraka. During my early days of struggle, I used to play this song and go on a bike ride every time I was rejected for a role and tell myself that it was their loss. That song would really cheer me up. Another song that worked for me was the Hindi number, Ruk Jaana Nahi Tu Kahin Haarke Kanton Par.
Any song from your own films?Actually, I don’t watch my own films, as I feel
that I could have done it better. That apart, most filmmakers have given me only romantic songs.
Who is the hottest actress?When?
Now...From where? Deepika Padukone. It’s the
safest choice.
Who is the most promising newcomer today?Rishi from Operation Alamellama
And girl? I find all new girls promising.
When was the last time you said I love you?Just this morning...
Your dream role...I want to do a historic role. In fact, I
would love to play HM Nayaka, as I have portrayed the character many times when I was in college.
Who inspired you to get into acting?Vishnu (vardhan) sir. I was his big fan.
Later on, there was some inspiration from Dr Rajkumar as well.
