A model and dancer, becoming an actor was always part of Jayashree Ramaiah’s plan. She was thrust into the limelight following her stint on Kannada Bigg Boss, and while Jayashree says that has helped her promote herself, it didn’t help her bag her debut flick, Uppu Huli Khara. “I had to audition for the film and was picked solely based on my talent. In fact, after I was selected I told the makers that I was on Bigg Boss.

I did receive offers after appearing on the show, but they didn’t really excite me,” says Jayashree, who’s looking forward to the release of the film.
In the film, Jayashree plays Lakshmi, who, she says, is a bold girl. “Lakshmi is very dominating, so much so that she puts pressure on her love interest, Ram (played by Shashi Devraj) to love her back. She is a bindaas character. At the end of the movie, Lakshmi has a major part to play, which I can’t reveal yet,” she adds.
So, is she like Lakshmi in real life? “Yes, which is why I found it easy to essay this role,” says Jayashree, who adds that she was pampered by everyone on the set. “I had a lot of fun while shooting Uppu Huli Khara. Everyone treated me like a kid on the set. I received a lot of love and respect from the team, but at the same time, they were strict as well, because I had a lot of things to correct in myself. It was a big learning experience.”
