I make films only where I have business, says CJ Roy
He may not be interested in cricket, but finds no harm in cheering for his good buddies when they take to the field.
Chairman and MD of the Confident Group, CJ Roy was at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Saturday when the Kerala team took on their Telugu counterparts in the ongoing celebrity cricket tournament. I was in Bangalore and Mohanlal, who stars in my latest production Casanova, invited me to the game, says Roy.

The match may not have gone in favour of Lals team, but his film is doing well at the BO, which makes Roy a pleased man. I am glad that the film has been well-received. It was a prestigious project for us, he says.
The man behind the Kannada flick Rangappa Hogbitna, has two other films lined up director Kavitha Lankeshs Krazy Loka and the Komal-starrer Radhikan Ganda.
There have been some issues about the title of the Komal film, with some feeling that it alluded to the relationship between former Karnataka chief minister Kumaraswamy and former actor Radhika, who have a child together. While there is no similarity in the story of the film and the actual couple, we are seriously considering changing the title, adds Roy.
But why is he making films only in Kannada and Malayalam?
About half of a films budget is taken up by the costs on locations and accommodation facilities for the cast and crew. I save on those aspects because my properties are used either as locations or to house everyone involved with the production. This is also why I make films only where I have business interests, says Roy.
