I hope my onscreen characters add empathy towards the police: Rishi

Kannada actor Rishi turns cop again in Rudra Garuda Purana, helmed by KS Nandeesh. He shares screen space with Priyanka Kumar for the first time in this bi-lingual Kannada-Telugu project.
Rishi, last seen as a police officer in Kavaludaari in 2019, says, “I was flooded with cop roles post Kavaludaari’s success, yet was skeptical about being typecast, which made me abstain from portraying such roles. Yet the character of Rudra is contrasting, and the treatment sets this movie apart. With ample high intensity action sequences, it touches upon relevant issues.”


Society often forgets that cops are human. What strikes me as an actor when I play a police officer
is their honour, loyalty, selfless service and integrity.
We need to recognise this about cops as it is not propagated enough in society and movies
