I am back to the place I call home, says Sruthi Hariharan

Sruthi Hariharan is back in Bengaluru after spending a year in Chennai. She speaks of coming back home, the laidback vibe of Chennai and the sambar that is “an emotion”.
On moving to Chennai, she says, “My husband’s work took us to Chennai, and we went there as a family. He has been in Bengaluru all this while for my work, and this time, it was my turn to do this for him.”
“We shifted with our daughter and it was just a year of us being with our daughter and taking care of the house. I led a domesticated life and focused less on my career,” she adds.

But now, they have decided to move back to the place she calls home, “since working from here is the best thing for me. My daughter is also growing and more independent,” she says.
While she’s glad to come back home, she agrees that Chennai, as a city, is very hospitable. “Chennai has a laidback vibe, and also, their sambar is an emotion,” she laughs.
Sruthi shares that this short stint in Chennai was a lesson in itself. “Life pans out in its own ways; we think we’ve got it all planned out, but honestly, we don’t have control of what happens in and the pandemic is a testament to that,” she says.
