I am a Kannadiga first: Prem

It’s a birthday with a difference for actor Prem today. “More than celebrations, I will be working for a cause today. Normally, the day begins at midnight with cake cuttings with my fans, which continues through the day. This time, though, I am going to make my presence felt at a protest organized in Bengaluru as part of the Karnataka bandh, protesting the Tamil Nadu government’s stance on the Mekedatu drinking water issue.As far as I am concerned, this issue is more important than my birthday. I may be an actor, but I am a Kannadiga first and if I can throw the weight of my name for a noble cause, then, why not?” says the actor. The day, though, will not be without its share of merriment. “I will spend time with my fans who gather at my house. Thereafter, there are a couple of charitable activities that I have to be a part of,” says Prem, who is now looking forward to the release of his upcoming film Male, in which he is paired with Amulya. “The film has come out really well. The plan is to have a May release,” he adds.
