I own a horse that goes missing before my marriage, says the actor, talking about his character in the film, The story revolves around how I go in search of the missing horse. When director Suseenthiran offered me the lead role, I just couldnt believe him! For actors like me, who do not possess the conventional looks of a hero, this style of storytelling is a blessing in disguise.
Appukutty says that all credit should go to his character in VKK. Ive always wanted to become a comedian and have been trying to gain an entry into films for the last 15-17 years. I did many small roles but it was VKK that fetched me recognition. Ill always remain grateful to director Suseenthiran for that.
Disclosing details about Azhagarsamiyin Kuthirai, Appukutty says, Working with Saranya Mohan was a great experience. If it had been another heroine, I would have been a bit hesitant. As weve already worked in VKK, we were quite comfortable with each other. There is another actor called Prabha who plays a vital role in the film.
The actor also seems to have developed a special bond with the horse that plays an important part in the film. Initially, I was very scared of him. But, Suseenthiran sir insisted that I get along well with the horse before I start shooting. So, I used to take him out every day for grazing. After a few days, we became quite fond of each other. But now, having wrapped up the shoot, I miss him a lot, concludes the actor, who is now busy shooting for Kullanarikoottam and Mudhal Idam.
