Huccha Venkat faces problems with his wife

Actor Huccha Venkat is no stranger to controversy, but usually it's of his own creation.This time, however, it's his wife who's stirred up the proverbial pot, after she refused to attend mediation meetings. The meetings were ordered by the family court three months ago, after he filed for

divorce

citing irreconcilable differences. The case has now been returned to the court and a hearing will be scheduled some time in June.

A divorce petition was filed by Venkat and the case was referred to the Bangalore Mediation Centre. The dates April 21 and April 30 were allotted for mediation but his wife Reshma failed to show up.

Huccha Venkat married Reshma in 2006, but separated in 2010. In the divorce petition, Venkat alleges that his wife did not approve of his lifestyle. The petition also stated that the respondent (Reshma) was demanding more money for shopping and that they were living beyond their means.

Reshma's parents were against the union as Venkat was a struggling actor at the time, but after much persuasion from the couple, they reluctantly agreed.The problems began three years into the marriage when it is alleged Reshma demanded a more luxurious lifestyle.The petition also mentions that land had to be sold to support the family.

On Valentine's Day 2015, Venkat took out advertisements in leading Kannada and English dailies declaring he would abduct popular Kannada cinema actress Ramya and marry her by force.Ramya having no clue who he was had filed a police complaint. Venkat was arrested.

Venkat's regular manic outbursts ensured that he's become a YouTube sensation and a meme favourite.
