Samyukta Hornad plays Kavana, an activist, in the ensemble film Hondisi Bareyiri. She says the role is very close to her real-life character. "I never had the opportunity to play an activist on screen. So, when I heard the script, I hopped on! The film is about being stuck—in the past or in a relationship—and filling the void with memories. I am a part of the memory that keeps resurfacing," she shares, adding that people can relate to the issues faced by the characters.

The film, Samyukta says, talks about hope and connection across multiple stories and characters. "Regardless of age, people are always looking for connections. Once they find it, they keep going back to it. The film talks about all this," she adds.

Samyukta is paired opposite Praveen Tej. "Though I shared the screen only with him, I met the rest of the cast, and it was like hanging out with friends. Many debutants get nervous during their first film, but our director Jagan is so calm and composed. He is the easiest person to work with, and there is no unnecessary pressure," she shares.
