Kannada
actress Harshika Poonacha begins her Mollywood innings with Charminar, a
film
that is being directed by Ajith C Lokesh. Also starring Ashwin Kumar and Hemanth Menon, this film sees Harshika in two very different shades — one in which she seems like a simple studious girl-next-door and the other wherein she transforms to become a super model.
“I am excited to be part of a new film industry, and
Malayalam
is close to my heart as I have grown up with Malayalee friends. That’s probably why the language does not come across as much of a challenge. So much so that I will be able to dub for my role as well. However, in the film, I play the role of this girl who is basically from Bengaluru. So the character also requires me to speak Kannada as well,” says Harshika, who began shooting for the film in Kochi earlier this week. “We will be completing shoot in a month and that’s the one difference I see in the working style between Kannada and Malayalam film industries. The latter has been planned in such a way that we will be through with the shoot within a month for sure. So if there are looks to be maintained due to continuity, there will be no issues as there will be no waiting to complete a film before I can change my look for another film,” explains the actress.
