Director-choreographer A Harsha, whose Vajrakaya was one of the top hits of 2015, is currently gearing up for an outdoor song schedule in Malaysia for his next film, Jai Maruthi 800. This film, which stars
Sharan and
Sruthi Hariharan in the lead, we learn, will have a song that has an interesting target audience — kids. “This song will be catchy and unusual, just like Thukita Gada Bada was in Vajrakaya. But the USP will be the fact that the lyrics and tune will please kids and school authorities will not mind playing this song for their functions,” reveals Harsha. The director adds that he feels this one is his toughest film till date, as he is stepping out of the mass entertainer zone and trying something different. “This film is an action-comedy and it has been a challenge as well as a pleasure working on it. Apart from Sharan and Sruthi, it features a host of other actors. Madhu Guruswamy, who was in Vajrakaya, and Sourav Lokesh, who has become popular as Bhajarangi Loki, are in this film too. There’s also Arun Sagar and Mico Nagaraj, who is doing a comic role, unlike his loud villainous characters. The surprise package is Shubha Poonja, who has impeccable comic timing, and looks cute and different from her usual portrayals,” says Harsha. While there has been speculation about his next,
Harsha says, “I am doing a film with Shivarajkumar and Duniya Vijay. This is a mass entertainer and it will be a treat for both their fan groups. The title, this time, will not be another name of Hanuman, but will allude to someone close to him. We will commence this film only after I am done with Jai Maruthi 800.”
