Producer, director, art director, story and screenplay writer, G Murthy, has done a fine job. The filmmaker has completed the shoot of Halliya Makkalu in less than 20 days in the village of Kamala behind Shiva Gange hill. The film highlights a lot of social issues, including that of child marriage and environment protection.
The filmmaker, who believes that the age old traditions are still prevalent in the villages, waited a good four years to do this project.
Each of his films, whether its 'Kurunadu, Shankara Punyakoti and Sidda-Ganga, has a lot of research involved and Halliya Makkalu is no exception. One of the topics dealt with the film is about girls reaching puberty, requiring proper nutrition during that time.
G Murthy has young talents from Siddaganga Kshetra playing important roles in the film. Master Manoj, Master Vishal and Master Swaroop are in the film where the teacher is played by Thanmaya. And
Ananya plays Thanmayas sister in the film. Others include Baby Siri, Kavya and Chytra who are also part of the cast along with seniors like Ramesh Bhat, Veena Sunder, Vijayalakshmi, Diwakar, Ravi Poojar and others.
