Guruprasad cutout for Director's Special

When Kannada film buffs walked onto the premises of Triveni theatre in Bangalore on Friday morning, they were in for a surprise. Instead of the usual cutout of the star of the film, they were greeted by a cutout of the director, Guruprasad.Truly, a director's special!
It is customary for cutouts to feature the leading actor of the film. However, the cast of Director's Special doesn't boast any stars, which is probably why Guruprasad -- who is the only known star from the cast and crew, apart from Rangayana Raghu -- decided to take this unconventional route.Rangayana Raghu, however, has been featured in the posters of the film.
This isn't the first time that Guruprasad has made news when it comes to this film. Earlier, there was some amount of confusion surrounding the release date when Guruprasad put out two ads in two different publications stating two different release dates. The film's release itself was stalled for about a year before it eventually released.
