Gulshan Devaiah reveals he didn't do Yash's Toxic for 'a variety of reasons'
Gulshan Devaiah has opened up about why he didn't say yes to the much-anticipated Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. In a recent interview, the actor revealed that he refused the project owing to multiple reasons.
He further explained, "The whole thing was in so many different parts, and I was like, I already have things going on over here, which I'm finding difficult to manage. So if I take up another one in a big franchise-level film, then it would not just work out. So, I didn’t do that.”
Toxic has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions planned in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and several other languages—highlighting its pan-Indian and international ambitions.
Produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic is scheduled for a grand theatrical release during the long festive weekend of March 19, 2026, coinciding with Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa. At the box office, it will face competition from Dacoit and Dhurandhar 2.
Why Gulshan Devaiah said NO to 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups'
Speaking to SCREEN, Gulshan said he was offered Toxic a long time back, “Geetu Mohandas and I had a long chat over this, and she really wanted me in that film, but it just didn't work out for a variety of reasons. Mostly, I think it was scheduling, because their film was such a big film."He further explained, "The whole thing was in so many different parts, and I was like, I already have things going on over here, which I'm finding difficult to manage. So if I take up another one in a big franchise-level film, then it would not just work out. So, I didn’t do that.”
