Last week, Karnataka State Film Awards for the year 2010-11 were announced in which the Shivrajkumar-starrer Thamassu was adjudged the second best film. Not just this, the film also bagged two awards for individual performances — the Best Supporting Actor (Female) Award was given to Harshika Poonacha and Agni Shridhar took home the Best Screenplay Award.

Agni has finally spoken out about the controversial awards, and reportedly said that the state government should have been more careful while forming the award committee.
Actress Priya Hassan and producer Basant Kumar Patil had filed a complaint against the first list of state awards for 2010-11 as cinematographer Ashok Kashyap, who had worked on Super, was part of the committee in the same year that Super was nominated for the Best Film. Earlier this year, the High Court dissolved the old panel and directed that a fresh committee be formed. The reconstituted committee announced the awards last week.
