Rakshit is in search of his father
The title of the upcoming Sandalwood movie Godhi Banna Sadharna Mykattu (Wheatish Complexion Average Build) will surely remind people of the 'missing persons' segment on Doordarshan. 'Godhi Banna Sadharna Mykattu' was the announcement repeatedly made on Doordarshan and continues till today.
A report that names of around 15 children and adults will be on the missing list every day made the director Hemanth M Rao curious and he decided to build a film script around it.

Speaking to Bangalore Mirror Hemanth M Rao said, "The title of the film Godhi Banna Sadharna Mykattu is quite familiar for people who watch Doordarshan. Also, there have been stories that are doing the rounds that suggest the film is only based on the search of missing persons. This is not true; the missing person element is only one of the elements in the movie. This movie has other commercial elements which people will definitely enjoy on screen."
As the title and some of the posters suggest, the film's storyline is based on the journey of a son who is in search of his missing father and, in the process, he finds many unexpected answers. "The film has a catchy title and it has worked well in terms of getting us publicity. Also, in our lives, we are all 'missing' something, such as a relationship or family or other important things. It was a conscious decision to use the missing aspect for the publicity but there is more to the story than just this. As you will see, in his search for his father, the lead character ends up learning more about life, love and happiness," Hemanth added.
Vasishta N Simha, one of the lead actors in the movie, says "My character will bring a negative shade to the film and this is a totally different role when compared to all my previous films. In this movie, Ananth will have more screen space compared to other characters. Except the allotted screen space, the movie has no lead actors, and the story itself will be the main driving force in the movie. The film is not just about a missing person, it also has other shades which the audience will surely enjoy."
Godhi Banna Sadharna Mykattu will be released on Friday in 65-plus theatres across Karnataka. The movie is produced by Pushkar Mallikarjunaiah and it is the debut movie for director Hemanth M Rao. Anant Nag, Rakshit Shetty, Achyuta Kumar, Sruthi Hariharan and Vasishta N Simha are playing important roles in the film. The cinematography is by Nandakishore Neelakanta Rao, Charan Raj scored the music and editing work was done by SH Srikanth.
