Go back in time with Kaiva: Filmmaker Balakrishna

The film has been made under the banner of Abhuvanasa Creations
Actors Dhanveerrah and Megha Shetty-starrer Kannada film Kaiva, which has been directed by Jayathirtha, hits the screens today. The film has been made under the banner of Abhuvanasa Creations. “The film, which is based on true incidents, is a story that is set in the 1980s. The story is both romantic and massy. Back in time, we have seen that there was a certain amount of innocence and purity in how people loved each other. There was mutual trust, and couples would go to any extent to save their relationship. This has been re-captured through the narrative of Kaiva. The film is full of love. It is brutal, yet not vulgar. Interestingly, the real-life couple, on whom this story is based, is still alive. The two now have grandkids. A major portion of the movie is based on incidents that unfolded over time; we have exercised cinematic liberty on only 20 per cent of the film. We have also showcased the Karaga festival which goes along with the plot and plays a pivotal role in the film. Apart from the lead actors, the performance of the stellar cast which includes Dinakar Thoogudeepa, Jayaram Karthik, Nanda Gopal, Ugram Manju, Raghu Shivamogga, Ramesh Indira, Mahanthesh Hiremath, Janvi Rayala and B M Giriraj, uplifts the entire saga,” explains Balakrishna GN, who has produced the film.
