Give me a year, Rider actress Kashmira Pardeshi had told sceptical family
After four films in different languages, Kashmira Pardeshi is set to make her debut in Kannada. And the Pune girl says she couldn't have got a better launchpad in Kannada than Rider, which is helmed by Vijay Kumar Konda, and backed by Lahari and Sunil Gowda."It feels great to make my Kannada debut. I signed the film around two years back and the team was great. We were together for almost two years because of COVID. I liked their treatment, which was really nice and respectful. Kannada is a nice language, which I caught on very easily, compared to Tamil," shares Kashmira. As for her role in the film, Kashmira reveals, 'I play Sowmya, who returns to India from the United States. She is searching for the love of her life. She is a very strong-minded girl, who believes in pure love and is quite old school. This is a lot like me. I really appreciate the fact that the leading lady's role is as important as the male lead when it comes to emotions or fighting for love."The young actress is also thrilled that she had a great team for her Sandalwood debut. "I was lucky to get such good technicians. The trailer shows how the music is the soul of the film and Arjun Janya has done a great job. Shreesha Kuduvalli has made everything look beautiful. The story is seamless and the love story forms the basis of the film, beautifully handled by our director," shares Kashmira.
Quiz her about co-star Nikhil and Kashmira immediately answers, "It was lovely to work with Nikhil. We used to have huge crowds wherever we went. I was impressed by the way he handled everyone, by attending to everyone who was there. He also took care of everyone on the set. He is very humble."Speaking of her journey into films, she answers, "After my graduation, I wanted to try films. I come from a non-film background, so it was a bit much for my family to digest that I was going from design to films. I told them that I would try films for a year and see how it goes. If it didn’t work, I'd get back to designing. Hence, I made the most of the time. Luckily, I bagged four films in four different languages. Marathi, Tamil and Telugu were lead roles, while I played Vidya Balan's daughter in Mission Mangal. I am happy that I did so many regional language films. And then, one can look at Hindi too."
