Geetha designs for Shivarajkumar

Geetha Shivarajkumar, the wife of Century Star Shivarajkumar, who is often fondly referred to as Geethakka in Sandalwood circles is often seen by her husband’s side at film dos. In films, however, her involvement would often just extend to her presence at the muhurat, or audio launch of his films or that of his friends. That, though, is about to change with the actor’s latest outing Aryan.
Geethakka, who has a keen interest in designing, especially fashion, has taken over her husband’s styling department for this project. The last time she did so was about a decade ago for the film Preethse, which had Upendra and Shivanna in the lead. Her decision to turn stylist, says Geetha, came because of the film’s premise, given that Shivarajkumar plays a coach in it. “The moment I heard the story of Aryan, I had a good feeling about this project. I realized that this film would give me a lot of scope to experiment with Shivarajkumar’s look. Being a family-oriented film, Shivarajkumar’s character has two different shades. For his sportsperson look, I had an idea how he should be seen, so I decided to take charge of the costumes for Aryan,” says Geetha, who recently made a trip to Thailand to get her husband’s wardrobe for the film in place.
Shivanna, meanwhile, is very happy that his wife is styling him. “I feel comfortable wearing clothes styled by my wife. She has an idea about fashion trends today and also knows what will work best for me. Hence, I just wear what she gives me. I have also been appreciated on the set and have seen how the clothes look on camera. I feel she is doing a good job,” says Shivarajkumar.
