Gantumoote set to premiere at the New York Indian Film Festival
We had written about Kannada filmmaker Roopa Rao’s Gantumoote, which is a coming-of-age drama set in high school, and is narrated from the perspective of the female lead. Set in the 90s, the film that deals with pertinent issues including educational pressure and bullying also showcases the first love of two high school students.
Now, the film is set to head to New York Indian Film Festival, where it will be premiered, and is slated to do a festival run after that.

The film has Prakash Belawadi’s daughter Teju and Nischith Korodi in the lead roles. Roopa will head to New York to see how people receive her work. She had won the best director award for her web series at the New York Web Fest in 2016.
