Ganesh to play a neurosurgeon in film backed by medical professionals

Golden Star Ganesh will essay the role of a doctor in a new movie which has been written and will be directed by ophthalmologist Dr Shashikala Puttaswamy. The actor last played the role of a gynecologist in his Kannada film Chamak. Incidentally, this yet-to-be-titled movie will be backed by neurosurgeon Dr Shailesh Kumar B S, who had made 6ne Maili earlier. This film is expected to go on floors in November this year.
A source from the team tells us, “The movie will portray the life of a doctor who faces different challenges in his profession every day, even as he tries to balance that with his personal life.In most cases, having to work round the clock does take a toll on personal life. To depict the intricacies of what health-workers go through, the team needed an actor who could express through his eyes. Dr Shashikala and Dr Sailesh are classmates and after much discussion, they felt that Ganesh fits the bill. Both the doctors have incorporated fictionalised accounts of their personal experiences in the screenplay. The story is steeped in reality without being preachy.”
