Ganesh is back with his first TV team

The team of the Kannada film Sakkare — from the producer, lyricist and actor — go way back. The film is looking at recreating the magic the team did 15 years ago with their television serial. Not many know that producers Shylaja Nag and B Suresh, who have roped in Ganesh and Deepa Sannidhi to play the lead roles in Sakkare, gave the Golden Star his acting break on the telly.Suresh was the director of the TV serial, who a young Ganesh also assisted. Incidentally, it was in Suresh’s film Tapori that Ganesh made his Sandalwood debut. “We are all like one big family,” says actress and producer Shylaja Nag, adding, “Suresh, Ganesh and I have known each other for 15 years now. Yogaraj Bhat, who has penned the lyrics for Sakkare, used to assist Suresh, when he was a TV episode director for Sadhane. V Harikrishna, the music composer, has also worked with us on a serial.” The romantic drama, written and directed by Abhaya Simha, also stars Ananth Nag and Anu Prabhakar. The songs of the film, which were released two weeks ago, have been steadily climbing the music charts.
