Gaja team tries to recreate magic with Brindavana
When it comes to a Darshan film, there is an unwritten rule that the music will be composed by V Harikrishna. The duo has, after all, been collaborating on many films, ever since the composer made his debut with Darshan’s home production Jothe Jotheyalli. “It’s not a given that I will be a part of all his films, but Darshan has immense faith in me that I will deliver with the job entrusted to me.

From Bhupati to Bulbul and now Brindavana, the Toogudeepa family has supported me a lot,” says Harikrishna. The film also brings together the Gaja combination of producer Srinivasa Murthy, Harikrishna and Darshan.
According to the composer, Darshan does not restrict the kind of tunes that he comes up with. “Experimentation has been the key in all our collaborations. For instance, Bulbul was a complete love-song album, which was a first for me. Since those songs worked well, there are high expectations of the Brindavana tracks as well. The soundtrack will have five foot-tapping numbers in different genres that will be all about human values and family ties. We worked for about four months on the tracks,” says Harikrishna.
The music of the film, which will be released in the market on September 5 under Harikrishna’s D Beats label, has songs by singers like Tipu, Hemanth and Santosh. And while he has no clear favourite, Harikrishna says that a number sung by Real Star Upendra will be worth looking forward to. “His voice completely suits Darshan,” he says.
Tunes apart, the composer feels that the picturization of the songs will also work in its favour. “Srinivasa really loosened his purse strings for the music. While there were no restrictions to ensure best sound quality, he also went out of his way to ensure that the songs are picturized grandiosely. One song has already been canned in Iceland and another, featuring 200 dancers will be shot in Sakleshpur soon.
