Director
Roopa Rao impressed film goers with her nuanced Gantumoote. The film has made her one of filmmakers to watch out for and a voice that everyone sits up and takes notice. She recently shared a rather interesting take on how characters need to be written onscreen and some of her thoughts on the invincible Indian heroes that she often ends up watching.
Roopa wrote, "I read an interview of a brilliant actress who plays the most stylish, perfect killer machine , a hired assasin and she said, when we read scenes i am always finding ways and means to humanise her (her character).
Here is she given a role which she can claim to be invincible and she makes it human with beautiful layers
And here we are....every hero role written even if he is supposed to be in the most human space, he is supposed to be invincible....
Enta maraya...yavaga naavu layers jote aata aadodu....so much so much so much potential."
Now isn't that some good food for thought to chew on?
