Filmmaker Pawan Kumar gets nostalgic about Lucia; shares throwback picture from its making

The Kannada movie Lucia is a milestone in director Pawan Kumar’s career. The crowdfunded film not only did well at the box office, but was also acclaimed for being path-breaking as far as its subject and treatment went. Reminiscing about the shooting of Lucia, Pawan shared a picture on social media recently that he captioned, “Dec 21, 2012.. the day when the world was supposed to end, I was in Gokarna with my cast and crew shooting the climax scene of Lucia.The time was around 6am.. minutes before sun rise. I was planning the shot and @arvindskash clicked this picture if I remember it right.”
Lucia, which starred Sathish Ninasam and Sruthi Hariharan in lead roles, turned out to be a big break for both the actors. The movie turned out to be a game changer in Sandalwood and was remade in Telugu as Enakkul Oruvan
To this day, songs from the film, like Thinbeda Kammi, Jamma Jamma and Yaako Barlila, are still remembered. Poornachandra Tejaswi composed music for the films. Siddhartha Nuni was the cinematographer. The film, which released in 2013, was also screened at the London Film Festival in 2013.
