Experience a slice of realism
Akash Srivatsa has waited 11 years for his commercial directorial debut
The story and screenplay, adds Akash, are such that people will instantly connect to them. 'The story is derived from the things that have appeared in newspapers and other forms of media over the last 2-3 years, shown in a fictional setting. The characters ' like a journalist, guruji, politician and the owner of a cricket team ' are very real, and audiences will be able to connect with them. The characters are well-defined, and are played by theatre artistes such as Achyuth Kumar, Ramesh Bhat and Prakash Belawadi, among others.'
Fight sequences are the highlight of many films, this also goes for the action scenes in Badmaash. But unlike what is seen in most films, Akash says that there is a concept behind each of the fight sequences. What's interesting is that one of the fights is treated like a musical.
The film promises to be a treat for fans of Dhananjaya as they will get to see him in 10 getups. Apart from this, the movie also has five different varieties of songs, ranging from a rock number, a pathos tune and a peppy song, to a high-energy track and a melodious rendition. Akash adds that the dialogues, with strong one-liners, are catchy and people will remember them long after they have left the theatre.
'Lastly, and most importantly, the movie is packed with many surprises. The story begins to unfold from the moment the film starts, and there is something interesting that takes place in the first and last three minutes. So, I would ask audiences not to miss the beginning and not to give away the end of Badmaash,' says Akash.
Badmaash
, which is why he has ensured that his film is packed with entertainment. While telling us why the Vibha Kashyap Productions' film should be your movie of choice this week, the director stresses that the best way to enjoy this Dhananjaya- and Sanchita Shetty-starrer is in the theatre. 'The film is a visual treat. It has been shot on Red Epic Dragon, and cinematographer Shreesha Kuduvalli has done a very good job. The movie is only a little over two hours long, and all credit for keeping it crisp and interesting goes to editor Srikanth (who won the State Award for Ugramm). The scenes flow seamlessly into each other and audiences won't feel like the movie drags at any point,' says Akash.Fight sequences are the highlight of many films, this also goes for the action scenes in Badmaash.
