LOVE THE KAPU LIGHTHOUSE
The best part of Kapu beach is that it’s off the usual tourist grid. There is also an old lighthouse making it all look postcard-perfect. Evenings are an ideal time to head there; the weather is perfect, you can catch a sunset or simply enjoy the wind in your hair. I have many memories of climbing up the lighthouse and enjoying the view – another must-do!
THE BEST SAMBAR-RICE
The Durga Parameshwari temples in Bappanadu and Kateel, are stunning and must make it to your temple-hopping itinerary. The lunch at Kateel temple is a must-try. It is a simple, hearty fare of rice, sambar and pickle. And let me tell you, this is the best sambar I’ve ever had. And oh, if you can plan your trip around the annual jathre (festival) at Bappanadu temple, it is a treat for your senses.
