Exclusive: Sudeep, Shivarajkumar launch UI, Upendra’s new directorial project

Actor and filmmaker Upendra dons the director’s hat once again with UI. The last time he did so was for Uppi 2 in 2015. The film’s muhurtha was held at a temple in Bengaluru, with actors Shivarajkumar and Sudeep in attendance. The film is being produced by KP Sreekanth of Venus Entertainers and G Manohar of Lahari Films.
The title, which has been revealed as UI, bears a resemblance to the trident mark worn on the forehead.“The title of the film is left for the audience to decipher. This is a subject that will have a universal appeal, which is why it is being made as a pan-Indian film,” shared Upendra.
While Sudeep said he was excited and requested the team to ‘finish it quickly so that he can watch it as an audience member too’, Shivarajkumar wished the team success.
Producer Sreekanth said, “Upendra is one of the best directors that we have, so I am thrilled that I get to join hands with him for this film.”
Producer G Manohar said, “The film will appeal to people from all sections of society and across all languages,” adding that he was happy to join hands with Sreekanth.
