Exclusive: Prathap Narayan on why he will only take roles that excite him

Actor Prathap Narayan, who loves to experiment with characters, plays an aspiring artist in I am Pregnant, directed by Sanjay.

Prathap says, “The whole movie revolves around how a male becomes pregnant, an intriguing topic that has never been touched upon in Sandalwood. I am basically a painting artist who works for a company. Once the contract is over, I intend to establish an art gallery, but miscreants try to damage it.”

Meanwhile, the actor is an antagonist in the Dhananjaya-starrer Hoysala in which he plays a guy from North Karnataka. “My only intention is to save the prestige of our family and our people who believe in us, no matter what. But the police don't want me to take law into my own hands which destroys the peace in society and leads to a face-off with the cops. It was a wonderful experience to shoot with Dhananjaya.”

He will also be seen as a villain in Rachita Ram’s Shabari Searching for Ravanna. “I don’t want to be typecast as an actor. I believe in doing roles which are challenging and only if there is something which excites me, can I do justice to the character,” he sums up.
