Exclusive: I take my husband’s advice before signing films, says Ragini Prajwal

Dancer-turned-actress Ragini Prajwal, who made her debut with Law, has signed up for her second flick in Sandalwood. Titled Shanubogara Magalu, the historical drama, set in the 18th century, is based on Bhagya Krishnamurthy’s novel of the same name and is directed by Kodlu Ramakrishna.
Ragini, who has always been choosy in selecting scripts, is returning to acting after a brief hiatus. She says, “Acting is not my priority, I am busy with my dance classes, and I give performances whenever there are opportunities, which is why it took a long time to sign a movie after Law.

Revealing details about her character, she states, “I play the daughter of Shanubogara. In those days, women were confined within the four walls. Despite this, she decides to fight against the British. So, my role has two shades which will be quite challenging to portray. A special set, reflecting the 18th century, will be erected and some portions will also be shot in Srirangapatna and Mysuru.”
Ragini discusses scripts with hubby Prajwal Devaraj before locking it. “Every time a script comes up, we sit together and discuss it since Prajwal has been in the industry for a long time, I take his advice before giving consent to movies,” she sums up.
