Actor
Yashas Surya has gone through a body transformation to get into the skin of the character of a wrestler in Garadi. The actor underwent rigorous training under the supervision of wrestling coach Appaji Gowda before he commenced shooting for the movie.
Telling us more about this, Yashas says, “There are two types of wrestlers - those with beefy bodies, and others with lean bodies.
As per the script, I had to have the latter one. So, I had to shed around 8kgs in three months and my workout was like that of professional wrestlers. I used to train with a gadde, which weights around 40kgs, to free up my shoulders. There is an indigenous drink called thanda, which has various dry fruits. This is given only to wrestlers so that they can stay energised. I consumed that, which helped me look sculpted.”
The actor will soon shoot with
Darshan for the movie. “I am excited to shoot with him for pivotal sequences, which we can’t reveal right now. We are waiting for his dates. There are also two pending songs, which will be shot in Bengaluru,” he sums up.
