Exclusive: Director Satya Prakash to make his acting debut

Director D Satya Prakash, who’s helmed award-wining films Rama Rama Re and Ondalla Eradalla, is all set to take a plunge into acting. He will play the lead in his upcoming directorial.
“I am yet to digest the news,” laughs Satya. “He is not a ‘hero’, but a central character,” he explains. “The lead character is written from my personal experiences. It represents the life of a common man, laced with light-hearted humour,” Satya adds.
“We humans are basically kind-hearted by birth. But as we grow, we become corrupt. What happens when a man still carries that child-like heart even after growing up and how society looks at him forms the crux of the story.”
The film is set to go on the floors by January. Satya is known for portraying real-life characters in all his films. “When I sit down to write, I look for subjects with a universal connect – poverty, hunger, love and more. I want people from all categories to watch my films. In fact, I want my films to be like masala dosa – it should bring happiness to everyone (laughs). So, I always strive towards achieving that. This film will be even more closer to reality than my previous films,” he adds.
Satya says that actors and technicians from Rama Rama Re will be a part of his new film as well.
Asked how exited he is about acting, Satya says, “I am more worried about how I look on screen! But since the character is very close to reality, I am a little relieved,” he concludes.
Satya, who started his career as a writer, has worked in all sections, including prod
