Sandalwood actors
Duniya Vijay,
Dhananjaya have expressed their anguish over government decision to cut off trees to construct a new helipad to facilitate a new heli-tourism project to boost tourism sector in and around
Mysuru
Duniya Vijay on his Facebook page has said that, though we have failed to grow trees, we should not chop off the existing ones, it is because of the existing trees the surrounding of Lalith Mahal Palace looks so beautiful. He has also stated that he has visited the place several times in Mysuru when he was shooting. It is better to shift the helipad locations to some other locations in Mysuru to save the green Mysuru.
Speaking to a regional daily, Dhananjaya, who learnt the nuances of acting in Mysuru, while studying engineering says, “We can only survive if greenery exists. It is better if the project is shifted to an outside city vicinity.” Actress Amrutha Iyengar, artist
Baadal Nanjundaswamy
and singer
Vasu Dixit have also joined the Save Mysuru campaign by signing the online petition. A protest was supposed to take place regarding the issue but it was postponed due to the spread of COVID-19.
