Upcoming Kannada film Barfi sees Kannada actor Dilip Raj in new light. For one, he plays a Punjabi guy for the first time. In addition to getting the look in place, the bigger challenge was in getting the language and pronunciation right. And two, this happens to be his first tryst with comedy. “The biggest challenge was to speak Hindi with the right pronunciations.
Barfi is a Kannada film, but I don’t have even one single Kannada dialogue in it. I am not fluent in Hindi, so it was definitely not easy for me,” says Dilip, who watched the first run of the film to check if he looked and sounded convincing. “I feel it has come out rather well. However, since I have done comedy for the first time, I am eager to see how people will react to that.”
Incidentally, in the film Dilip’s character also has a son — a role that has been essayed by the film’s director
Shekar’s younger daughter. Looking at the stills coming out from the team’s production unit, one can expect a laugh riot for sure.
